In 1916, Richard Bauer founded the company in New York City. At its founding, Bauer was a dual paper house specializing in fine paper products. We supplied the printing industry that was centered in New York City. Then in the 1970s Richard Bauer & Company began to focus more on industrial packaging. In 1977 The New York Times announced the invention of bubble wrap. They wrote that Richard Bauer & Company was the place to get large quantities. By the 1990s, we offered environmentally friendly packaging whenever possible.  We also began to offer equipment that increased our customer’s efficiency as well as helped control their cost. At the same time, we started our service department that has been the cornerstone of our equipment program.
